Dazaifu, where Kamado Shrine is located, has been home to a branch of the central government called Dazaifu Government Office since around 665.
Kamado Shrine was built to protect the Dazaifu Government Office from misfortune.
Kamado Shrine is dedicated to Tamayorihimenomikoto.
